FAQ
I’m interested, how do I get started?
On the How it Works page, submit your email in the box. We will email you the Discount Card Agreement for distribution to your team. Our email will have all the instructions for beginning your program. And there is absolutely NO obligation. You can start collecting offers from local businesses and THEN purchase the discount cards when you’re ready.
Is there a minimum order?
The minimum order is 300 cards. A typical team or group will order 10-20 cards for each player to sell.
How much do we have to pay up front for the Roster Rocket Discount Cards?
You don’t have to pay any money up front to get started on the program. We’ll supply the tools you need (Discount Card Agreement and Offer Tracking Spreadsheet) and no money is due until you’re ready to order your Discount cards.
When do we have to pay for the cards?
Your payment is due when you place the order online at our website.
What do we do with the signed Discount Card Agreements?
Keep the Discount Card Agreements on file for your records, in case of any discrepancy at a later date. You’ll be responsible for transferring the offers onto the provided Excel Offer Tracking spreadsheet that we will use to layout the cards. Please ensure accuracy and careful proofreading.
The Participants
What restaurants and businesses will be featured on our Roster Rocket Discount Cards?
You will control what businesses are on your card. Make a list of the known restaurants and businesses within a reasonable distance of your organization. Contact each one to see if they have an interest in participating in the fundraiser. Remember, there is no charge to the restaurants or businesses to be on the card, so they’re able to get free advertising and publicity in exchange for offering the discount deals.
Do you recommend certain types of restaurants or businesses?
We suggest that you consider well-liked, mainstream places that are in demand by a significant number of people in your area. Some ideas include restaurants, oil change businesses, bowling alleys, car washes, hair salons, pizza shops, bakeries, clothing stores, ice cream shops and dry cleaners.
Can there be two companies of the same type on the card (like two pizza restaurants, for instance)?
Yes. We don’t have any rules that limit the number of companies in a particular business category.
What kind of discounts do the restaurants and businesses typically offer?
Usually the restaurants and businesses will offer a discount such as buy one, get one free; a certain dollar amount or percentage off your purchase; free upsize to your order, etc. Each business owner is responsible for deciding what kind of discount to offer.
Expiration & Pricing
How long does it take to secure the offers?
The time it takes to secure local merchants all depends on your organization’s efforts. It generally takes 1 to 2 weeks to secure local merchants. Take the time to secure the best merchants and offers. A discount card with great offers from popular merchants will make the card a lot easier to sell and more profitable.
Do the Roster Rocket Discount Cards expire?
Your cards will display an expiration date that is one year from the start of the program, to be determined by you.
Are the discounts good one time only?
The Roster Rocket Discount Card offers are good for continuous use for a one-year period, unless specifically noted. Cards are non-transferable and aren’t valid with any other coupons, discounts, offers or promotions.
At what price do you recommend selling the Roster Rocket Discount Cards?
The most common amount we’ve seen is $20 each. However, a $10 selling price is always a safe bet. At that price, it’s an easier sale to the prospective customers, who will immediately recoup their expense with just a few uses.
At $20, per card you’ll make more profit per card, but you may end up selling fewer cards. It depends on how many offers you provide.
What it really comes down to is what price do you think will be accepted by most people in the neighborhood in which you will be selling?
How long would you suggest that our fundraiser should last?
That depends on your fundraising goal and the size of your volunteer group. Typically we recommend a 2-3 week period, due to the fact that most groups have limited time and energy.
What if we have unsold cards? Can we return them, or get a credit for them?
The cards are custom designed for your organization, and unfortunately cannot be returned for a credit. If you do end up having unsold cards left over after the date you’ve set as your completion date, you can always continue to sell them until your supply is depleted. Sometimes they can also be given as gifts to special coaches or volunteers.
Design
Can you print our team/group logo on the front side of the card?
Yes, we can. Simply email us the best high-resolution copy of your logo that you have, and we’ll print it on your Roster Rocket Discount Cards. We have created a wide range of custom designs to choose from, but each card is custom, so we can alter colors and add logos as needed.
We’ll send you a proof for your approval before the cards are printed.
How many offers can fit on the card?
The card can fit up to 28 offers. The card designs you see allow for 18 offers on the back. If there are more offers, we can add them to the front of the card and our graphic designers will alter the design to fit the extra wording.
Repeat customers
Once you realize how easy this fundraiser is, and how popular it is with the community, you may want to execute this program every year. If that’s the case, and we already have your card art on file, we can offer a special discount for future orders, and print new business offers/discounts on the back.
What if I don’t see a design that fits my group?
Just reach out via email and let us know what kind of group you need cards for. We’d be happy to custom design a card for you at no extra charge.
Production
Will I receive a proof of the cards before they are printed?
Absolutely! We will email you the front and back proof of the card for your approval before we print the cards. You will be required to sign off on the design.
How long does it take to receive the cards?
Once we receive your completed Offer Spreadsheet and the order for the design choice and quantity of cards, we’ll layout the card and send you a proof of the card, front and back, for your approval. After you have approved the layout and accuracy of the information, the cards are printed. A typical order requires 5-10 business days to print after the customer has approved the proof, plus 2-3 days shipping time, depending on where you are located.
